This year’s Maritime Day at Victoria Quay was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Fremantle’s rich maritime heritage and share the vital work we do as pilots. The event, hosted by Fremantle Ports, drew families and maritime enthusiasts alike, offering a day filled with history, technology, and hands-on activities.
At our booth, visitors explored our interactive displays, including the ‘pilot on board’ exhibit, which featured historical artifacts from the Maritime Museum. Attendees also got a taste of the modern pilot’s life through our VR headset experience, which simulated maneuvering a ship into the harbor, and our model containership activity, which was a hit with all ages.
We loved connecting with the community and showcasing the expertise that goes into safely navigating Fremantle’s busy port. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about what we do. See you next year!
