Fremantle Pilots is committed to maintaining the highest standards in pilot training, ensuring our team is well-equipped to navigate the dynamic maritime landscape. Our Integrated Management System (IMS) incorporates comprehensive Pilot Training Plans that encompass theory, practical, and simulated elements.

All our Pilots hold Pilot Licences for the Ports of Fremantle and Perth, issued by the Fremantle Port Authority and Department of Transport W.A. However, training doesn’t conclude with obtaining a licence. Fremantle Pilots has developed a tailored Continual Professional Development program. This program includes:

Simulation Exercises

Simulation exercises play a pivotal role in our training program, allowing Pilots to hone their skills in a controlled virtual environment. Covering a range of scenarios, from emergency responses to challenging navigational situations, these simulations ensure our Pilots are well-prepared for any situation they may encounter in real-life pilotage operations.
